Rope Rescue III

The purpose of this course is to provide the participant with the knowledge and skills to care and maintain equipment used by the agency in rope rescue, explain the importance of personal safety and standard operating procedures relating to a rope rescue, work as a team member during a rope rescue operation and explain the various systems used in rope rescue.

 

Course Content:

The following topics will be addressed:

  • principles of rope rescue
  • advanced belays
  • advanced knots and rescue
  • simple, compound and complex pulley systems
  • pick-off rescue systems
  • self rescue techniques
  • advanced anchors systems
  • stretcher rescue systems
  • tracking line offsets
